Blues boss Paul Jewell was still waiting to hear whether all his international players had come through their games unscathed at Thursday’s press conference ahead of Saturday’s game at Barnsley. Linchpin defender Gareth McAuley, Darren O’Dea and Connor Wickham were back and OK, but Hungarian pair Tamás Priskin and Márton Fülöp, and Canadian Jaime Peters had not yet returned to Portman Road.

Swansea City boss Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that his club has approached Town regarding the loan signing of striker Jason Scotland. The 31-year-old is keen to play first team football and the Blues have told him that they wouldn’t stand in his way if his former club wanted him to return.

TWTD understands that Town are willing to allow Jason Scotland to move on loan to his former club Swansea. The Swans’ interest in the 31-year-old, who was at the Liberty Stadium between 2007 and 2009, first surfaced last month with manager Brendan Rodgers subsequently confirming that he could move for the Trinidad and Tobago international.

The Ipswich Knights and the Ipswich City Bulls clubs were both hit by the floods in the run up to the start of their season on 5th March.

Swindon boss Danny Wilson has confirmed that Robins striker Charlie Austin has been at Portman Road today holding talks with the Blues, as reported by TWTD earlier this afternoon. Town and the Wiltshire club have agreed a fee for the 21-year-old believed to be somewhere between £1.5 million and £2 million, including the usual appearance and achievement clauses.

Town appear to be getting closer to completing the signing of Swindon striker Charlie Austin. The Robins have accepted a bid believed to be somewhere between £1.5 million and the £2 million figure originally targeted by League One club, presumably including various clauses. The Blues have been given permission to discuss personal terms with the former Poole frontman and we understand talks are currently taking place.

Blues boss Roy Keane says Argentinian midfielder Luciano Civelli has by no means been written off, despite having been out of first team action since March 2009. The Town manager says Civelli could be in contention for a return to senior football in the next couple of months but stresses the importance of remaining patient after such a serious injury.
